X-Men 2 – X-Men United: This is an action-packed movie filled with special effects and a compelling story line. The X-Men story is about humans who have mutations that give them super powers. The X-Men, a group of peaceful mutants, protect the world from evil. In the film, a rogue military colonel, William Stryker, wants to destroy all peaceful mutants because of a grudge he has against the X-Men’s leader, Charles Xavier. The X-Men along with Magneto must stop him. This movie opens with action and intensity and it continues throughout the film. The story will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final explosive scene. All Star Cast: Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, and Halle Berry.
Batman Begins: This is not only the best installment of the Batman films, but one of the top comic book movies of all time. The stage is set before the original Batman movies, when Bruce Wayne was a young adult still depressed about the murder of his parents. The plot unravels further as we learn why Bruce Wayne is becoming Batman. Once Bruce becomes Batman he takes on villains such as Scarecrow and Ra’s Al Ghul. Because this plot runs deeper than prior Batman’s and the special effects are ultra-modern, you don’t need to be a comic book or superhero fan to enjoy this film – just a fan of great stories. All Star Cast: Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson and Katie Holmes.
Spiderman: This movie brings you an action packed Spiderman adventure. Being the first of the new comic book movies, it reinvented the comic book genre in movies. It starts off with the nerdy high school reporter, Peter Parker, getting bitten by a radioactive spider. He then has all the abilities of a spider including using web-slinging to soar from building to building. In this film, Spiderman battles the Green Goblin who is wreaking havoc on NYC. All Star Cast: Toby Maguire, Kristen Dunst, and Willem Dafoe.
Sin-City: This Frank Miller adaptation is a must see. Filmed in Black and White with instances of color, your viewing experience will be one to remember. The story takes place in Sin City, where only the lowest of the low dwell. There are several storylines in this movie that all intertwine making it a great movie to follow. The action sequences are amazing and Mickey Rourke’s character, Marv, provides some fantastic blows. The cast is full of great actors who bring top-notch acting to the movie. All Star Cast: Jessica Alba, Benicio Del Toro, Michael Clarke Duncan, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, and Bruce Willis.
Hulk: This movie starts off slowly, but the pace picks up after a failed genetic experiment turns Bruce
Banner into the Hulk. Banner becomes an incredible green creature with the strength of a 1000 men – and remains the Hulk as long as he is angry. During the movie, the Hulk battles vicious dogs, the military and even some “unknown forces”. Although the Hulk has uncontrollable strength, he calms down when he’s around his girlfriend Betty. The ending of this film is packed with action sequences that will have you on the edge of your seat. All Star Cast: Eric Bana, Nick Nolte, and Jennifer Connelly.
