Mommy, will you buy me a pet butterfly? I love them, they are so pretty and graceful, just like me, right? (said with a big, loving smile)
The reality is that moms can’t buy their children butterflies because they are simply not for sale in any pet store I know of. Butterflies are too free-spirited to act as pets. They would never be happy sitting in a cage all day, indoors, with no space to fly.
So how do you respond to such a request? Well, there is a solution. Instead of buying a real butterfly, why don’t you make your own?
Paint the Wild Butterflies is a great alternative. You can paint and create your own perfect butterfly, just the way you imagined. They can be painted to look realistic or have more of a creative, abstract feel to it. This butterfly kit comes with 3 wooden, life size butterflies. The wood is curvy and bumpy to create a butterfly that practically comes to life! Also included in the kit are 5 nontoxic acrylic paints, a shiny varnish, and a paintbrush. Once the butterflies are painted, you have quite a few options of how to use and display these life-like butterflies. You can turn the butterflies into refrigerator magnets, hanging sculptures, window accessories, or simply a toy pet that you can fly around and have adventures with. The kit comes with press-on magnets, hanging accessories, and window suctions. If you wanted to give your butterfly creation as a gift, the kit also includes gift tags that you can paint and write on.
This butterfly kit is meant to be fun and to learn a little something about the nature of butterflies. The instruction sheet includes wonderful facts about butterflies and there is also a diagram which identifies each species by name.
If your children love butterflies, this is a great project and learning experience for them. And if you’re lucky, maybe they will let you join in the fun and paint a butterfly too.
